The interior lighting of your car is usually not the most optimal when you are trying to see at night. Many times, if you are trying to find something small, or trying to read something like directions, you will need to break out the flashlight application on your phone. There are several tips that can help you get more visibility, as well as giving you some color or eye appeal. Let’s go over a few things that you can do to achieve both.
LED Lights
The first step that you need to do is to take out all your standard yellowish incandescent bulbs and replace them all with LED’s. It will give you a much cleaner, crisper white light that is substantially brighter. If you want to spice up the interior of your car, you can add an LED bulb that gives off a colored hue. These bulbs are also designed to last longer and pull less power. You can mix and match to make your visibility better, or you can go all one color and end up with a glow that matches the colors that represent who you are.
Light Bars
If you still want to brighten up your car’s interior, you can add some lightbars. Once again, you can go with bright LED lights, or you can add some colored bulbs to match your other lights. You can also change it up a bit and match some different color schemes. They can be attached anywhere in your car, like along the headboard or along the foot areas.
Dash Lights
One of the most overlooked areas of the interior of a car is the dash lights. They are usually a little complicated to reach, so people do not want to deal with changing them out. It can make a drastic difference when talking about how light the interior is. You can also get a new stereo system that has colored lights, which will give you a nice, easy glow.
Door Lights
One common area where people need extra lighting is on the ground outside of your car when you are trying to get out. You can install some XK Glow lights that will light up the ground when you open the door. If they are installed along the bottom edge of the door, you can achieve a wider section of the ground that becomes bright enough to see what you are stepping out onto.
Imagination
You can use your imagination to create a unique interior that is lit up with a bright, clean white, or you can go with any color that you could imagine. If you cannot find a light that is designed for what you want it for, you can use light ropes and form them in any way needed. The sky’s the limit, and your imagination can run wild.

You can see from above that you can set up any color and design that you could ever want. Keep in mind that some areas have laws keeping you from having the lights on while driving, but you can still make it look good. Your car is your pride and joy, and it should reflect your own style and attitude. It does not have to please anyone but you, so go with what you feel is needed.
Do not forget that you can match your exterior running lights with your cool new inside color scheme. You can match seat covers with the LED lights, the floor mats can be designed to complement them, and you can even go so far as to match the paint colors of the car inside and out to the colored lights that you installed. Do as you see fit because, in the end, it is your car (hopefully).
