Video Details New 2020 Toyota GR Yaris

Toyota`s hardcore division Gazoo Racing, or simply put GZ, has recently announced some important updates for the 2020 Yaris, the model being highlighted in the video below. Aussie magazine PerformanceDrive also provided the technical details. In Australia, the model is yet to be announced, but rumor has it that it would arrive in the second quarter of the year.

The 2020 Toyota GR Yaris, aka GR-4, drops the conventional look in favour of a more aggressive and much sportier design language. Inside, the same sporty feel is present as well, while underneath the hood, the new engine provides more power and exciting engine soundtrack.

Exterior Tweaks

As Toyota said, the new GR-4 Yaris is “a rally car for the road,” providing advanced aerodynamics; it also “pushes vehicle performance to the limit.”

The car`s new dimensions are also impressive. It comes with a front track of 1,530mm, while the rear one stands at 1,560mm. the wheelbase is set at 2,558mm, making it extremely stable at high speeds and tight corners. The wheels measure 225/40R18 front and rear, respectively, and come equipped with Dunlop SP Sport MAXX 050 tires.

Engine Features

Besides the new aerodynamics and sportier interior, the GR`4`s main highlight is the engine under the hood. It is about the new 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder pot, with 192kW and 360 Nm of torque, which turns the Yaris into a real beast; in fact, it is considered one of the most powerful compact hatches in the world. The power is sent to the wheels via a high-performance six-speed manual transmission, enabling a quick response from 0 to 100 km/h. Unfortunately, no official figures are yet given.

You can find the official technical data below, along with the exciting video presentation of the 2020 Toyota GT Yaris. Enjoy and don’t forget to tell us if you like the little beast!
