The soft model within Porsche`s lineu-up – the Macan – is not that soft anymore, as the German-based sports carmaker has recently announced the arrival of the most powerful variant ever built. That in its fresh GTS iteration, set to come with increased performance figures, new safety updates and a lot of high-tech gadgetries inside.

From what we know so far, the 2020 Macan GTS was announced in Australia and comes with a hefty price – at least $109,700. With the full package and stuffs, the price could go as high as $140,000. Aussie lovers should be able to drive it starting early next year.

As aforementioned, the new GTS is actually a brand-new car, at least this is what we like to believe; that thanks to the plethora of new technologies inside, more safety features and a better engine inside the hood. Let`s start with the performance.

2020 Porsche Macan GTS – Power and Performance

The new GTS packs the company`s brand-new 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, the same one found on the Turbo sibling, and which churns out no less than 280kW and 520 Nm of torque. Compared to its predecessor, that would be a 15kW and 20Nm upgrade. This is even more than the Macan S in its latest form, with 260kW and 480 Nm of torque. However, it is less than the Macan Turbo with 324kW. As performance figures, the mid-size SUV is capable of running from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, quite extraordinary from the last 5.0 seconds. The top speed is set at 290 km/h.

Performance Tuning Stuffs

Those figures we talked above are achieved thanks to some new performance tuning parts, like the firm`s in-house built Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damping control system, or the new Adaptive Air Suspension which lowers the car`s ride height by 10 mm.

Visual Highlights

With the new power comes better looks. As you can depict from the media gallery below, the 2020 Porsche Macan GTS looks more muscular and extremely sportier, especially with the new set of wheels, signed by RS Spyder Design, perfectly tuned with high-performance breaks, measuring 360mm and 330 mm front and rear, respectively. Optionally, you can also opt for other tuned parts, like the Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSBC) package, or the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) package.

Cabin Tweaks and Technoloy on-board

The interior complements the exterior with high-quality materials like Alcantara insertions for the bespoke sports seats, as well as leathered sports steering wheel.

Technology wise, the company has equipped the 2020 Porsche Macan with some high-end features that come standar. There is the driver`s memory package for the seating, digital radio, surround-view parking cameras, or Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Also, there is always room for more goodies for those willing to spend more money. You can opt for fine leather upholstery in Crayon or Carmine Red, gorgeously combined with some Alcantara trimmings. For a better music quality, there is also the Bose surround system that you can also choose; other features also include adaptive cruise control, heated front seats or ionized air-conditioning.
