The footage captures the car gracefully navigating through the challenging twists and turns, giving us a glimpse into its future design and performance capabilities.

Breaking away from the trend of vehicles, Audi is taking an approach with the S5 Sportback. While its numbered counterparts are set to go electric, the S5 will stick with its gas-powered engine. This decision positions the S5 as a combination of modern performance and traditional power.

As we can see from the spy photos, the design of the S5 has significantly evolved all around its body. The first sign of the remake is at its front facade, as it now features a Singleframe design along with sharper headlights that remind us of the upcoming A5 wagon. The grille has a mesh finish hinting at the wild nature of the S5. Although some details are still concealed by camouflage on this prototype prominent air vents indicate a commitment to aerodynamics and high performance.

Rear Elegance – OLED Lights and Quad Exhaust Pipes

Moving towards the back, the taillights take inspiration from the A4 model with the digital OLED rear light system. The quad exhaust pipes emphasize the S5 Sportback’s performance heritage, announcing a captivating blend of power and sophistication.

Stylish Wheels – Five Spoke Blade Design

The prototype showcases five-spoke blade-style wheels representing an evolution from the existing S5 wheels. This design choice reflects Audi’s commitment to timeless sophistication while embracing aesthetics.

Powertrain – Turbocharged V6 Symphony

Beneath its camouflaged exterior lies the heart of the S5 Sportback – a turbocharged V6 engine. We can expect to see a return of the 3.0-liter V6 engine, which delivers 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. However, Audi never rests on its laurels, as it is likely to add some additional power to this engine for improved efficiency and performance.

Anticipated Release

As the automotive industry races towards adopting power, the Audi S5 Sportback stands as a symbol of the enduring appeal of gasoline-driven performance. With the current A4 undergoing an update, there are expectations as well for the refreshed version of the S5 Sportback sooner than we might anticipate. Although some details are concealed by camouflage at the Nurburgring, it is certain that the release of the A5 Sportback will be closely followed by its S5 counterparts somewhere in the second quarter of 2024.

2021 Mercedes S Class Glimpsed Testing on The Nürburgring https://automotivesblog.com/2021-mercedes-s-class-glimpsed-testing-on-the-nurburgring/ https://automotivesblog.com/2021-mercedes-s-class-glimpsed-testing-on-the-nurburgring/#respond Tue, 19 May 2020 16:54:43 +0000 https://automotivesblog.com/?p=2019 More]]> Mercedes is finally testing its latest S class (2021), as it was glimpsed around the Nürburgring, covered in camouflage. It is expected to debut later this year.

As soon as you take a look at the updated Mercedes S class, the new front grill and headlights grab your attention. The new headlights are made a bit sleeker and the front grill gets widened with additional curves.

The bonnet also gets pronounced curves and the whole front end gives the car a rather aggressive and sportier look.

The side profile on the new Mercedes S class gets a bit curvy, with a pronounced curve on the lower side. The side profile on the previous S class looks a bit more aggressive as compared to the newer model.

The rear end gets a complete revamp, and the new dense LED taillights also get slimmer with a triangular patterned glow. A chrome lining sweeps in between the two taillights.

The rear bumper looks a bit chunkier and gets dual exhaust pipes below. The bumper carries the same side curve all along the back of the car.

The new Mercedes S class (2021) will be having a large centered touch screen to control all the features. But the chrome buttons on the previous model, added to the premium look of S class, whereas this implementation gives it a techy, but flatter look on the inside. The center console feels a lot boring and empty with this new implementation.

The Display meter is also a separate rectangular screen that protrudes almost vertically behind the steering. This model also gets sleeker looking rectangular horizontally oriented air vents as compared to the circular ones rounded with chrome which gave it a premium feel.

It is expected to come packed with advanced autonomous features. These features will make the Mercedes S class a bit easier to maneuver in the city due to its large size. It is also expected to come with rear wheel steering to accommodate its large wheelbase.

Although it is confirmed that the new S class will also be available with a v12 engine, but it is expected in the Maybach version. The standard Mercedes S class will be available in a v8 or an Inline 06 coupled with a mild hybrid system. It will be capable of being driven on electric power alone for 62 miles. It is also expected to come in a pure electric variant in the future.

It is expected to rollout later this year with the same price tag i.e. S class starts from around 94,250$ whereas the Maybach variant start from 173,000$.

Spy Video: 2021 Audi RS3 Sportback in Rough testing on the Ring https://automotivesblog.com/spy-video-2021-audi-rs3-sportback-in-rough-testing-on-the-ring/ https://automotivesblog.com/spy-video-2021-audi-rs3-sportback-in-rough-testing-on-the-ring/#respond Tue, 28 Apr 2020 13:13:56 +0000 https://automotivesblog.com/?p=1892 More]]> While carmakers around the world have closed their local factories due to the CO-Vid 19 pandemic, Audi is playing hard to get on the Ring, testing out the future 2021 Audi RS3 Sportback, which completes the auto maker`s A3 lineup.

As we can spot in the spy video below, the 2021 Audi RS3 Sportback is currently in disguise, which means that is in its early testing. And once it will emerge on the market towards the end of the year, it will come with a more prominent and more aggressive design language than the standard A3.

Unfortunately, the video doesn’t say too much about the car`s new design, since it is covered in camouflage. However, there are some hints that reveal parts of its final shape, like wider front and rear wheel arches with rear air slits, upgraded rear spoiler and chunkier rear diffuser. As for the front, it still keeps the same design language as the standard A3, but rest assured things won’t remain like that.

Since we don’t have too many details about the car`s design, we did manage to find out a little bit more about the car`s new engine, which will definitely be more powerful than the ongoing model. And judging by the way it sounds in the video, it will be a real banger.

The ongoing model came out with a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder, with an impressive 294 kW and 480 Nm of torque. That was the same engine that equipped the 2016 TT RS model, and which made it one of the most powerful hot hatches on the market at that time.

The good news is that, according to sources, the same engine will be used; however with greater power. We are not sure how much, but it will be powerful enough to take on the new Mercedes-AMG A45, which outsources 310 kW. So, experts say it would come out with around 290kW-300kW. Mechanically, the RS experts will use the same all-four wheel system with some other important tweaks that will increase its driving capabilities. For the moment, the details list is rather scarce, but since it is bound to appear on the market towards the end of 2021, we should be able to find out more in the upcoming weeks.

As a reminder, the standard 2021 Audi A3 Sportback was released back in March, and features an extremely muscular design, which is part of the company`s new design philosophy. The same design elements are visible on the S3 Sportback as well.

Bigger and wider, the A3 Sportback is aggressive, thanks to the L-shaped headlights with Matrix LED technology, the high-end single-frame grille with new corner intake clusters on the sides. The wheel arches are also more prominent, while the taillights are now wider and perfectly blending in with the neat rear bumper bar, now equipped with matching corner clusters.

2021 Audi S3 Previewed Ahead Geneva with New Quattro AWD System https://automotivesblog.com/2021-audi-s3-previewed-ahead-geneva-with-new-quattro-awd-system/ https://automotivesblog.com/2021-audi-s3-previewed-ahead-geneva-with-new-quattro-awd-system/#respond Sun, 23 Feb 2020 12:18:57 +0000 https://automotivesblog.com/?p=1680 More]]> The German-based Audi carmaker is preparing its new fleet for an official display at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, which will open its gates on the March 3rd. One of the new models is the long-expected 2021 Audi S3, which has been recently previewed in a couple of photos and details.

Following a series of tests on the track in Germany, the new Audi A3 is almost complete now and ready to be unveiled next month in Geneva, the model coming with new improvements in terms of design and not only. However, just before the big event, a couple of journalists decided to take the sports car out for a spin in Sao Miguel, Portugal.

As we can depict from the media gallery below, the new 2021 Audi A3 will come with new changes around the camouflage areas. For instance, the front is set to be wider and is fitted with new corner vent clusters on the sides. It is also complemented with the carmaker`s latest headlight design.

However, the major change is the car`s more advanced Quattro all-wheel drive system, which provides increased fuel economy or enhances the car`s driving capabilities and speed. The system is fully-variable and features a new multi-place clutch pack. Thanks to that, the engine`s entire power is sent to the rear axle, which is a major change compared with the previous engine, which sent only half of its power to the rear. It also adjusts the distribution towards the front and rear more accurately.

Mechanically, the new 2021 Audi A3 is more advanced, thanks to the new suspension system, which now comes with optional adaptive dampers, providing thus improved response. The handling is also improved, as the car uses a new variable steering setup that works in tandem with a more powerful electric motor. As for the steering ratio, this is positioned right in the centre, providing just 2.5 turns from lock to lock. That lowers the steering weight during low speed, allowing an easy parking. At higher speeds, the steering wheel provides better stance and grip.

All these mechanical characteristics make the 2021 Audi A3 an “all-new model”, as the German based carmaker calls it. It still rides on the VW Group`s MQB platform, with the same width, track and wheelbase. However, as aforementioned, thanks to the more advanced Quattro all-wheel drive system, the car completely changed in terms of driving dynamics.

Underneath the skin, the 2021 Audi A3 also comes with an improved 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, which now churns out 228kW and 400 Nm of torque. This means an increase in torque of around 20 Nm over the current model.  The power and torque will be sent to the wheels via a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch auto as optional.

Prices and full specs will be revealed at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show next month. Until then, please take a closer look at the 2021 Audi A3 while performing some track tests in camouflage, in Sao Miguel, Portugal.

Video Spy: 2021 Hyundai i30 Is Under Testing https://automotivesblog.com/video-spy-2021-hyundai-i30-is-under-testing/ https://automotivesblog.com/video-spy-2021-hyundai-i30-is-under-testing/#respond Thu, 16 Jan 2020 17:21:06 +0000 https://automotivesblog.com/?p=1500 More]]> Rumors of the new 2021 Hyundai i30 are not new, with information and photos to be revealed last year. Now, we have the chance to see the prototype in some tests on the track, with a video highlighting the new changes the model will be coming with, both at the exterior as well as inside the cabin.

As we can see in the video, the test mule is wearing camouflage around the areas where the changes will occur. These tests were taking place at high altitude in Russelhsheim, Germany, as the German number plates state.

Changes at the Exterior

As we can depict from the spy video, the new 2021 Hyundai i30 will come with significant changes on the body.

The front end is set to be slimmer and sexier, with full LED technology and surrounded by thin daytime running lights. Right in the middle, there is the new grille with the company`s latest “cascading” design theme. The theme is also visible on the new 2021 Tucson concept car and the NEXO hydrogen SUV.

Other features at the exterior include the updated front and rear bumper bars, new set of alloy wheels, while the rear end promises LED taillights coming as standard.

Changes in the Cabin

As previously stated, the new i30 also promises to come with a new interior. Just like the Kia Seltos, the 2021 Kia i30 would adopt the new touch-screen with wide-screen layout, with plenty of gadgetries. The quality of the materials have also been improved.

Engine under the hood

Even if the motorizations is a bit disappointment, given the styling changes and technology tweaks, the 2021 Kia i30 will surely have more to offer in the future in that regard. For the moment, it would come with a 1.6-liter turbo engine paired to a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. This might develop around 275 Nm of torque, which is a significant boost from 265 Nm of torque. As for output, we are talking about the same 150kW.

The new 2021 Kia i30 is set to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show this March, otherwise we might see it in full swing at the Paris Auto Show, in October. Prices will be announced at a later date. Meanwhile, take a look at the spy video showcasing the prototype performing tests on the tracks in Russelsheim, Germany!

2021 Cadillac Escalade – Full Details Emerged https://automotivesblog.com/2021-cadillac-escalade-full-details-emerged/ https://automotivesblog.com/2021-cadillac-escalade-full-details-emerged/#respond Thu, 16 Jan 2020 17:03:43 +0000 https://automotivesblog.com/?p=1356 More]]> Previously snapshotted while performing the latest tests on the track before emerging on the market, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade has been confirmed for official debut in a couple of weeks.

As we can depict from the spy shots and a couple of teaser photos and spy shots, the 2020 Cadillac Escalade is a must have for those craving for a luxurious and impressive SUV. In fact, from my point of view, is perhaps the ultimate SUV in terms of imposing design and luxury at its best.

The 2021Escalade has been confirmed for an official debut on the 4th of February, in Los Angeles, during the Oscars week, and will be built in Arlington, Texas. As officials stated in a press release, an all-electric variant would also arrive in 2023.

There is a huge difference between the previous model compared to the brand-new SUV. It is a full-size SUV with three rows of seats which offer enough space for the entire family. The body-on-frame model is on its fourth generation and promises to become one of the finest on the market.

Exterior Details

As we can depict from the photos below, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is massive and extremely imposing. It offers horizontal headlights, a feature shared with the XT6, that blend in with the polygon grille, which is also a characteristics of the company`s new design language policy. In the lower fascia, the new Escalade will also feature massive vertical Led driving lights, increasing thus its rugged looks.

Cabin Details

The cabin of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade remains one of the most advanced on the market, from a technological point of view. It features a massive 38-inch curved OLED display with “over twice the pixel density of an ultra-high-definition 4k television.” This makes it a first in the industry, as the company states, offering the best visual experience for front-seat passengers.

About the SUV`s impressive curved OLED Display, this is what officials from Cadillac revealed during a press release:

“From the highway to the big screen, the Escalade has been embraced by drivers and fans around the world. We’re excited to introduce the 2021 Escalade during Oscars week in February,” said Steve Carlisle, Cadillac president.“

Underpinning the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is the GMT1XX platform, the same one found on other SUVs like the Chevrolet Suburban/GMC Yukon XL and Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon. Mechanical similarities with the aforementioned models are also present. On top of that, the new Escalade will also feature independent rear suspension replacing the present live axle.

Engine lineup will comprise the current one, like the 5.3-, 6.2- and the more potent 6.6-liter engine. Later on, it is also believed that the company will release a much more powerful variant, powered by the carmaker`s Blackwing V8 engine.

Full prices and other mechanical details will be revealed in February, however, in case new details emerge, we will promptly fill you in! Until then, enjoy the media gallery with the exciting 2021 Cadillac Escalade!
