This engine is prone to excessive timing chain wear and premature failures.

Timing Chain Failure

The timing chain in this engine is placed at the rear side of the engine and is sandwiched between the engine and the transmission. Being in such an inaccessible place also makes its replacement not an easy task. Parts normally installed in such inaccessible places are designed to last for the life of the engine, but not in this case. The timing chain in the N47 can fail anywhere between 40 to 100k miles and can cause serious damage to the engine as its parts lose synchronization.

Diagnosis

Most of the time, when the timing chain breaks off inside the engine, it also damages the engine components, which leads to huge repair bills. This problem can also be diagnosed prior to its complete failure by looking out for a rattling noise from the rear side of the engine.

Replacement and Repairs

The timing chain being in such an inaccessible place requires the mechanic to take the engine completely out of its bay to get good access to the chain. Taking the engine out is itself a big and hefty task. After that, it is another hefty disassembly that provides you access to the chains themselves

The timing chain replacement kit consists of 3 chains, for the oil pump, camshaft, and high-pressure fuel pump. You also need to have a tool kit to lock the crankshaft and camshaft in their place while working on them so that they do not lose synchronization. After getting the engine out from the bay these are the major steps that must be performed to replace the timing chains.

  • Firstly, ensure that cylinders 1 and 4 are at the top dead center, to maintain the point for synchronizing the points in accordance with it.
  • Lock your crank shafts at this place with the looking tools you have.
  • Take the tensioner for the camshaft chain out to loosen the chain a bit and loosen the 3 bolts on the camshaft sprocket.
  • Loosening the high-pressure fuel pump will make the process of getting the fuel pump sprocket off easier.
  • Take out the bolts holding the fly wheel and get the flywheel off the crankshaft.
  • Undo the bolts of the starter motor to further get access to take out the oil sump.
  • Take the oil sump out by undoing the corresponding bolts.
  • Now take the timing cover out by undoing the bolts and holding it in place. It will require a bit of prying and light taps from the hammer. Now you will have access to all the chains and sprockets.
  • Now remove the oil pump sprocket and the guides for the oil pump by undoing the bolts. Remove the chain for the oil pump.
  • Similarly, remove the guides and tensioner for the camshaft sprocket and take out the sprocket along with the belt.
  • Now rotate the crankshaft 45 degrees after TDC and undo the tensioner, guides, and sprockets for the high-pressure fuel pump. Take the belt along with the sprockets out as well.
  • The last thing would be your oil sprayer; you can remove it for replacement if needed.
  • After that, place the new belts in reverse order, ensuring all components remain in sync till the end.

Conclusion

This timing chain issue is a critical flaw in the engine’s design and the best way to solve it is to avoid the cars with this N47 engine or get rid of it in running order if you can. As this engine also faces many problems due to the emission control devices installed in it such as the EGR and DPF.

The turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engines in the E90/F30 BMW 3 Series and E60/F10 BMW 5 Series sedans from 2007 to 2015 are powered by the 1.6L/2.0L BMW N47 engine. One major issue of the BMW N47 engine is the timing chain wear and the way it works for a short time. The engine also suffers from problems associated with using emission control devices such as the EGR and DPF.

The N47 engine was introduced in March 2007 on the E81/E87 BMW 1 Series. The following car, which ran the same engine was a facelifted E60/E61 BMW 5 Series from September 2007. After that, the N47 engine with the same timing chain failure problem was added to the facelifted BMW 3 Series E90/E91/E92/E93. This particular engine, the N47 engine, was launched in the BMW X3, BMW X1, and other BMW Series.

The timing chain is also placed at the rear end of the N47 engine sandwiched between the engine and the transmission which makes it very inaccessible to reach for a replacement.

To replace an aging timing chain, the engine has to be taken out of the bay completely and stripped down to its core. It is not an easy task and makes huge bills if the timing chain failure has caused other parts to go bad as well. It is advisable to replace the timing chain in this engine within 60-100k miles to avoid any dangerous failures during driving.

2. EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)

The EGR valve is a system fitted to modern vehicles to reduce the amount of NOx exiting from the vehicle’s exhaust. It does so by reburning a part of the exhaust gases reducing the overall amount of NOx. But the NOx sensor easily gets clogged up by soot overtime, which causes the valve to remain open more than it should be. This allows excessive exhaust gases to move in the intake manifold for a prolonged amount of time. The intake manifold, being made up of plastic, ultimately melts down and this causes holes in your intake manifold due to which you lose boost or intake pressure. It can even result in a fire in rare cases inside your engine bay.

3. DPF Sensor

DPF is a device that filters out particulates or soot from the exhaust gases of a diesel engine. The sensor is prone to failure due to the DPF not working efficiently when cold. It usually occurs due to short journeys, where the DPF does not get warm enough to filter out the soot from the exhaust gases. This results in soot built up on your DPF sensor, glow plugs, and it even ruins your turbo.

The crankcase breather hose came in rubber in the early models, which as they got hot caused the hose to leak oil. This problem was addressed by BMW by replacing it with a plastic hose that stays strong even in hotter conditions.

Due to a faulty EGR sensor, massive amount of soot can easily build up on your intake manifold and your Anti-Shudder valve which can restrict airflow and result in reduced boost pressures.

Conclusion

It is better to just avoid the cars equipped with BMW’s N47 engine. Or if you happen to own one then try to get rid of the EGR and DPF system completely from a competent mechanic. As most of the problems originate from faulty EGR and DPF systems. Other than that, look out for any rattles from the engine from its rear side, and if you are over 80k miles and haven’t replaced the timing chain yet, don’t take the risk and get it replaced to avoid big bills in the future.

Once emerged on the market towards the end of the year, the 2021 BMW 4-Series will be offered just like the previous model, in coupe, convertible and Gran Coupe shapes, and will stand on the company`s latest CLAR platform. This is the latest high-end model to gain the CLAR architecture, thus joining the new G20 3-Series, 5-Series, 7-Series, as well as the carmaker`s X lineup.

Currently on tests on the famous Ring, the new 4-Series, also codenamed the G22, is set to become one of the most advanced models in terms of driving capabilities and aerodynamics, coming with a series of improvements.

Speaking of which, representatives from BMW stated that the model would feature an updated chassis technology, along with new suspension system that would place the new 4-Series “straight to the top of its segment”, transforming it into a genuine sports car with advanced driving capabilities. The sportiness of the car is also given by the new double-joint struts equipping the front, adding a five-link rear-end as well.

This is what BMW said about the car`s new chassis technology:

 “Whether darting along winding country routes around Munich or constantly switching between motorway and urban traffic, the new BMW M440i xDrive coupe epitomises how the unequivocally sporty design of the body and chassis, the bespoke set-up of the steering, brakes and all-wheel-drive system, the pinpoint feedback from the dampers and the precise interventions of the chassis control systems together serve up driving pleasure that thrills and delights – day in, day out.”

The car`s improved driving capabilities is also given by the new overall height; this means that the car sits 57 mm lower, while the centre of gravity has been reduced by 21 mm. On the other side, at the front, the negative camber has increased, while the rear provides a 23 mm wider track. All this leads to a boost in lateral acceleration.  

Once it will become available on the market, the 4-Series will tackle its competitors with a top of the line model, in the shape of the M440i xDrive. Performance wise, the topper will feature a 3.0-liter turbo inline-six engine, developing no less than 275 kW. And as with all top of the line models from BMW, a hybrid version will available with a ‘’48V mild hybrid technology with an 8kW electric boost system”, equipped with an xDrive all-wheel drive and eight-speed auto.

As we can spot in the spy video below, the 2021 Audi RS3 Sportback is currently in disguise, which means that is in its early testing. And once it will emerge on the market towards the end of the year, it will come with a more prominent and more aggressive design language than the standard A3.

Unfortunately, the video doesn’t say too much about the car`s new design, since it is covered in camouflage. However, there are some hints that reveal parts of its final shape, like wider front and rear wheel arches with rear air slits, upgraded rear spoiler and chunkier rear diffuser. As for the front, it still keeps the same design language as the standard A3, but rest assured things won’t remain like that.

Since we don’t have too many details about the car`s design, we did manage to find out a little bit more about the car`s new engine, which will definitely be more powerful than the ongoing model. And judging by the way it sounds in the video, it will be a real banger.

The ongoing model came out with a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder, with an impressive 294 kW and 480 Nm of torque. That was the same engine that equipped the 2016 TT RS model, and which made it one of the most powerful hot hatches on the market at that time.

The good news is that, according to sources, the same engine will be used; however with greater power. We are not sure how much, but it will be powerful enough to take on the new Mercedes-AMG A45, which outsources 310 kW. So, experts say it would come out with around 290kW-300kW. Mechanically, the RS experts will use the same all-four wheel system with some other important tweaks that will increase its driving capabilities. For the moment, the details list is rather scarce, but since it is bound to appear on the market towards the end of 2021, we should be able to find out more in the upcoming weeks.

As a reminder, the standard 2021 Audi A3 Sportback was released back in March, and features an extremely muscular design, which is part of the company`s new design philosophy. The same design elements are visible on the S3 Sportback as well.

Bigger and wider, the A3 Sportback is aggressive, thanks to the L-shaped headlights with Matrix LED technology, the high-end single-frame grille with new corner intake clusters on the sides. The wheel arches are also more prominent, while the taillights are now wider and perfectly blending in with the neat rear bumper bar, now equipped with matching corner clusters.

In the concept segment, BMW used this opportunity to reveal the long-awaited i4 Concept which previews the i4 full-electric model, due to arrive next year.

As we can depict from the media gallery below, the BMW i4 is a futuristic concept, with an advanced design…nothing we have seen so far at a BMW product. All the design elements are beautifully combined together in an attempt to create the perfect body style.

Speaking of design language, Domagoj Dukec, CEO of BMW Design, has declared that:

“The design of the BMW Concept i4 shows fantastic proportions, a powerfully expressive character and, of course, a lot of attention to detail. With the Curved Display, we have redefined BMW’s signature driver focus in an extremely elegant way. At the same time, the BMW Concept i4 transports a feeling of sustainable driving pleasure.”

The i4 Concept`s body is described as revealing a “visually powerful face to the electric age” of BMW, featuring new and much more aggressive kidney grilles at the front end, in connection with two vertical items that drop down the front spoiler.

There is also the new set of headlights with a combination of past and future themes, while the traditional four-eye layout provides a much more slender style. The front section also houses a lot of sensors, all part of what BMW calls an “intelligence panel.”

At the rear end, BMW has given it a more appealing and sportier feel and look, comprising a two-piece diffuser lower down, along with thin and wide taillight theme and swooping rear windscreen which increases the car`s aggressive looks.

Moving inside, the interior of the BMW  i4 Concept is exactly the way we expected it to be: high-tech and futuristic and comprising the latest gadgetries on board. The main highlight is the brand-new “Curved Display” screen with the media interface and instrument cluster combined in one panel; also, the layout of the gauge cluster for the driver lets you easily operate between the three “experience modes” available – Core, Sport and Efficient. The latter one also comes with the new “Assisted Driving View”.

Besides the futuristic and revolutionary design, and the high-tech cabin, the BMW i4 Concept is also a beast under the hood. It uses a fifth-generation eDrive electric motor, the very same that will probably equip the future model. The power is set at a staggering 390kW, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h done in 4.0 seconds.

The electric motor also uses a high-voltage battery, which has a capacity of 80kW, thus offering a driving range of around 600 km. Weighing around 550 kg, it will prove extremely efficient in terms of driving capabilities.

One of the new models is the long-expected 2021 Audi S3, which has been recently previewed in a couple of photos and details.

Following a series of tests on the track in Germany, the new Audi A3 is almost complete now and ready to be unveiled next month in Geneva, the model coming with new improvements in terms of design and not only. However, just before the big event, a couple of journalists decided to take the sports car out for a spin in Sao Miguel, Portugal.

As we can depict from the media gallery below, the new 2021 Audi A3 will come with new changes around the camouflage areas. For instance, the front is set to be wider and is fitted with new corner vent clusters on the sides. It is also complemented with the carmaker`s latest headlight design.

However, the major change is the car`s more advanced Quattro all-wheel drive system, which provides increased fuel economy or enhances the car`s driving capabilities and speed. The system is fully-variable and features a new multi-place clutch pack. Thanks to that, the engine`s entire power is sent to the rear axle, which is a major change compared with the previous engine, which sent only half of its power to the rear. It also adjusts the distribution towards the front and rear more accurately.

Mechanically, the new 2021 Audi A3 is more advanced, thanks to the new suspension system, which now comes with optional adaptive dampers, providing thus improved response. The handling is also improved, as the car uses a new variable steering setup that works in tandem with a more powerful electric motor. As for the steering ratio, this is positioned right in the centre, providing just 2.5 turns from lock to lock. That lowers the steering weight during low speed, allowing an easy parking. At higher speeds, the steering wheel provides better stance and grip.

All these mechanical characteristics make the 2021 Audi A3 an “all-new model”, as the German based carmaker calls it. It still rides on the VW Group`s MQB platform, with the same width, track and wheelbase. However, as aforementioned, thanks to the more advanced Quattro all-wheel drive system, the car completely changed in terms of driving dynamics.

Underneath the skin, the 2021 Audi A3 also comes with an improved 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, which now churns out 228kW and 400 Nm of torque. This means an increase in torque of around 20 Nm over the current model.  The power and torque will be sent to the wheels via a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch auto as optional.

The new 2021 Kia Sorento was detailed towards the end of last month in the first leaked images – being highlighted with a sharp design and fully-packed with the latest technologies on board; now, we have the official details and images of the model.

The new and much more modern SUV is larger than the previous one, and comes with the carmaker`s new design philosophy; it is also the first SUV from the range to come as a hybrid variant. As for the interior, it is fully-packed with the latest gadgetries and safety systems.

Design Details

The 2021 Kia Sorento looks eye-catching at the exterior with a daring design that highlights a strong personality and “refined boldness”, as the car manufacturer declared.

Starting with the front, the new Kia Sorento wears the new grille with the company`s “tiger nose”, along with slim headlights that incorporates LED daytime running lights, with “tiger eye” pattern.

At the back, there is new set of vertical-stacked taillights with squarer-edged corners. There is also the new roofline which maximizes boot space inside the cabin. Also, the rear end comes with more prominent horizontal lines as well, which increases the feeling of a robust SUV, while the lower rear bumper is wrapped in black sheeting. That gives the overall design a sharper and edgier feel than the present design.

Interior Details

In terms of dimensions, the new 2021 Kia Sorento is much wider than the current model. The A-pillar for instance, is 30mm back and comes with shorter front and rear overhangs, and a much longer wheelbase. That provides increased space inside.

Technology Details

Technology wise, the 2021 Kia Sorento is equipped with the latest gadgetries and accessories. There is the new 10.21-inch multimedia touch-screen on the dashboard, along with a 12.-3-inch digital screen for the instrument cluster. There are also some buttons that surround the main screen, while the climate control system is features by an “H” pattern for the vents.

As for the gear shifter, this one has been replaced by a rotary-like selector which supports driving modes and other control features.

Engine Lineup

Even if we do not have the official powertrains, reports state that the new Kia Sorento will be offered as a plug-in hybrid powertrain along with a hybrid variant. The first one will be backed by a conventional 1.6-liter turbo petrol. As for output, this will stand at around 170 kW. However, these are just speculations, with the official details to be officially unveiled at the 2021 Geneva Motor Show, which will open its gates on March 3rd.

HERNDON, Va., January 14, 2020 – The A4 represents the bestselling sedan in Audi history and now for 2020, Audi has made the full model line – including the A4 sedan, A4 allroad and S4 – even sportier and more cutting edge than its predecessors.

Exterior design
The midsize model looks more dynamic and sophisticated thanks to the new design language updates. Almost every piece of sheet metal on the exterior of the A4 has been transformed. The Singleframe grille is now broader and flatter and underneath the headlights are larger air inlets that point narrowly inward.

From the front, the shoulder line starts at the corner of the headlight and intentionally runs together with the edge of the hood. It begins again over the rear door handle and draws toward the rear lights. From the side, the pronounced wheel arches pay homage to the brand’s quattro DNA and the lower set shoulder line visually lowers the vehicle’s center of gravity. At the rear, the broadened rear side window makes the cabin seem longer and the C-pillar more slender.

A4 quattro models feature a standard S line exterior, which includes titanium black honeycomb structure in the Singleframe grille, aluminum silver matte inserts in the large front air inlets and tailpipe trim, and 18″ 5-double-spoke design wheels with all-season tires.

For the A4 allroad, standard structured gray matte body cladding helps to highlight the vehicle’s adventurous spirit. The allroad also features a unique Q-design Singleframe® grille with vertical chrome slats to emphasize the vehicle’s increased ground clearance and ride height over the A4 sedan.

Sporty design-cues differentiate the S4 sedan, including a double-slat alu-optic Singleframe® grille, alu-optic exterior side mirror housings, body-color door handles, S model specific quad exhaust outlets in chrome and a trunk lid lip spoiler. An available black optic package adds black exterior trim with black exterior mirror housings and 19” 5-V-spoke-star design wheels in titanium finish with summer tires.

Lighting
New for 2020, all A4 models come standard equipped with LED headlights. The full LED headlights on Premium Plus models include a unique daytime running light (DRL) signature, giving an unmistakable presence on the road. At the top of the range, available matrix-design LED headlights with dynamic front turn indicators feature leaving and coming home animations. Fast-moving lights play in the headlights and taillights when the vehicle is locked or unlocked, emphasizing the vehicle’s dynamics and lighting technology while standing still.

The standard LED taillights continue the horizontal architecture from the front of the vehicle. Their design echoes the optional front DRL signature, creating a cohesive design aesthetic in the front and rear. A chrome strip provides a visual link between the left and right taillights and underscores the visual width of the vehicle.

Interior design and infotainment
The interior of the new A4 models includes greater attention to detail through functional refinements and additional driver-focused technologies. The design focuses on horizontal lines, with the focal point being the MMI® touch display, which features the all-new MIB 3 infotainment system. This new infotainment system, combined with the large 10.1-inch touchscreen, offers drivers a seamless integration of more useable technology.

The new third generation modular infotainment platform operates up to ten times faster than the MIB 2 system, allowing for quicker processing speeds and graphical resolution in order to provide a better overall user experience. Acoustic feedback helps enhance the driver’s ease of using the touchscreen when the vehicle is moving, and available handwriting recognition with whole-word input offers an easy way to enter information such as telephone contacts or navigation destinations. Natural-voice control helps turn the A4 into an intelligent travel assistant. Drivers can speak both commands and questions, to which the A4 can provide comprehensive feedback through on-board stored data or available information from the cloud.

With new packages offering greater value to customers, Audi connect® services help connect the vehicle with the internet, the owner and the surrounding infrastructure through the MMI system (subscription required). Launching on 2020 A4 models, Audi connect® packages feature an available Verizon Unlimited data connection powered by Verizon’s 4G LTE network to deliver fast, secure in-vehicle internet access to drivers. With an active Audi connect® subscription, functions such as parking, weather updates and Yelp® review highlights are now integrated within the MMI and can be accessed through their own icons. Infotainment features such as internet radio streaming and Amazon Music (subscription required) are also accessible via the MMI via the Audi connect® mobile app.

Powertrain and performance
The A4 quattro sedan comes standard with a robust 2.0-liter TFSI® engine, which generates 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds for the sedan and 5.9 seconds for the A4 allroad. The four-cylinder engine is mated to a seven-speed S tronic® dual-clutch transmission and quattro® all-wheel drive. The 2.0-liter TFSI® engine in A4 FWD models utilizes a combustion method with shorter compression and longer-expansion phases to help increase efficiency. The A4 FWD with seven-speed S tronic® dual-clutch transmission delivers 188 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque.

The 3.0-liter TFSI® engine in the S4 delivers 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, and sprints from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The 3.0-liter engine is mated to an eight-speed Tiptronic® automatic transmission that is well suited for the low-end torque of the V6. Lower gears offer short, sporty ratios while longer upper gears help reduce engine revs. Every Audi S4 is standard equipped with quattro® all-wheel drive, offering high precision and dynamic handling through active torque distribution to both axles.

Suspension
A4 models come standard equipped with a front five-link steel suspension to provide a comfortable yet agile ride for long distances. Also available is a sport suspension, which lowers ride height by 23 mm.

The A4 allroad’s standard adaptive damping suspension provides an increased ground clearance of 34 mm over the A4 sedan, achieved through a taller suspension and higher profile tires, making the allroad a more capable choice for off paved road terrain.

Unique to S4 models, drivers can choose an available S sport package, which adds a sport adaptive damping suspension, red brake calipers and a sport rear differential that enhances cornering agility by actively splitting torque between each of the rear wheels, with the ability to direct nearly all torque to one wheel. The S sport package can be combined with available dynamic steering, which helps provide increased handling and stability at all speeds and is the most dynamic iteration of the S4.

Advanced driver assistance features
The A4 model line brings a full suite of newly standard and available driver assistance features, designed to help drivers confidently navigate the road and traffic.

Driver assistance features include:

  • In the case of emergency braking or maneuvers, standard Audi pre sense® basic can intervene to help prepare the vehicle for impact. This process includes beginning to close the side windows and panoramic sunroof, pre-tensioning the front safety belts.
  • Standard Audi pre sense® city uses a camera to monitor the area in front of the vehicle and provides visual and acoustic warnings to help alert the driver to potentially hazardous situations.
  • Available Audi side assist provides blind spot monitoring via LED indicators on the exterior mirror housings at speeds above 9 mph.
  • Available Audi active lane assist helps to keep the driver within the driving lane through corrective steering intervention and adjustable wheel vibration, at speeds above 40 mph.
  • Available Rear cross traffic assist (as part of Audi side assist and parking system plus) supports the driver when reversing out of a perpendicular parking space. Indicator arrows in the MMI® display can help inform the driver of approaching vehicles, and in critical situations, a warning tone and brake jolt can be applied, prompting the driver to fully stop the vehicle.
  • Available Audi pre sense rear (as a part of Audi side assist) uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to help detect an impending rear-end collision, and can initiate preventative measures.
  • Available Adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam assist helps maintain set distance from the vehicle in front, including braking and accelerating as needed, between speeds of 0 to 40 mph.

More than that, according to recent rumors, the Japanese carmaker would unveil the model this year in August, at least in concept phase.

Besides the rumors, there are also some reports launched by BestCarWeb.jp confirming the arrival of the 2021 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series in August, the model presuming coming with a new engine and new transmission.

Speaking of which, it would be equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid, thus replacing the current 4.6-liter petrol V8 pot, while the present six-speed auto would be switch with a new CVT auto. The new engine would also develop 220kW and 356 Nm of torque.

An electrified option would also be in question, given Toyota`s plans to include it in the lineup ever since December 2017. Back then. The carmaker issued a statement, declaring that:

“By around 2025, every model in the Toyota and Lexus lineup around the world will be available as either a dedicated electrified model or have an electrified option. By around 2030, Toyota aims to have annual sales exceeding 5.5 million electrified vehicles, or more than half its global sales total. The figure includes more than one million zero-emission vehicles.”

As for the current 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 diesel unit, chances are it might still continue to equip the model in some markets like Australia, however it would feature greater power and advanced emissions control to meet the present CO2 emissions regulations.

Besides the new engine, the new 2021 Toyota LandCruiser 3 Series is also likely to come with a new chassis. This might be the company`s new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), also to be used on other Toyota models; however, it would have to be heavily modified in order to strengthen the car`s axle rear suspension.

Visually, the new 2021 Toyota LandCruiser 3 Series would borrow the design cues from the 200 Series, featuring the company`s new front grille with modern LED headlights and taillights. The size would also be much bigger with around 5mm long, 2mm high and with an extended wheelbase by 50mm. that would automatically increase the space inside.

Speaking of more space, the interior would be optimized for five-, seven- and eight-seat layouts, depending on the market involved. Technologically, it will be state-of-the-art, just like other new Toyotoa models. Among gizmos, we should mention the new touch-screen with various functionalities, as well as the new series of safety features, including the high-performance autonomous emergency braking.

In markets like Australia, the new 2021 Toyota LandCruiser 3 Series would keep the company`s sales quite high, particularly with the car`s increased sales for 2019, with 13,802 being sold country-wide. This is quite an amazing thing, as it represents a 0.9 per cen growth compared with 2018. On the other hand, its main rival, the Nissan Patrol, was reported with just 1951 sales for 2019, which is a clear indication that the new model will definitely gain more popularity and will increase the company`s sales in the country.

As the carmaker states on the press release, the Fisker Ocean is “the world`s most sustainable vehicle| to make world debut at Consumer Electronics Show, and is regarded “as the world`s first all-digital car compay” that “created real excitement in every corner of the globe.”

First off, the Fisker Ocean stands out from the crowd with a huge body – it measures 182.7 inches long and has enough room inside for two rows of seats and 20 cubic feet of cargo space at the back; this can be expanded to 45 cubic feet with the rear sets folded.

Next is the full-length solar roof at the exterior, which according to Fisker, offers 1,000 sun-charged miles of driving throughout the whole year. Other stand-out features refer to massive 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, or 22-inch rims as optional.

Second, Fisker`s Ocean benefits from the best technological gadgets and gizmos, starting with the massive 16-inch center touch screen, while the driver enjoys a 9.8-inch screen in the cluster. There is also an integrated heads-up display for the driver which monitors the car`s different parameters. The cabin is also surrounded by sustainable and recycled materials.

Last but not least, the power of the Fisker Ocean is absolutely amazing, given the full-electric system and the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a staggering 2.9 seconds. At least, this is what Fisker previously declared, without mentioning the output of the electric motors. And this info is still unavailable for the moment. What we also know is that the electric motors are sustained by an 80kWh battery which can run up to 300 miles on a single charge.
